Miller’s tooling Pty Ltd supplies “LENNOX” bandsaw blades. Quality bandsaw blades from the USA. Bandsaws are the most economical method of cutting the cutting steels and similar material sections.

 Bandsaws 01.jpg

With all the many brands of bandsaw machines avail, we choose to supply Lennox bandsaw blades because of the trouble free track record & supply of these bandsaw blades. They will suit all machines & generally outperform a lot of other brands of bandsaw blade. Bandsaw blade length sizes will vary depending on your bandsaw machine, Miller’s Tooling will supply the length & size of your blade made to order.

Bandsaws 02.jpgThe Bi-Metal bandsaw blade is a spring steel blade with hardened HSS or cobalt teeth laser welded to the bandsaw blade, giving some flex & still hard teeth.

Variable teeth bandsaw blades are preferred today, as they will reduce the harmonics & squealing of cutting continuously and remove the swarf easier from the bandsaw blades teeth. These factors all add up to longer life of your bandsaw blade.

The variable pitch teeth are;

3 /4    tpi ideally for large & solid steels

4/6     tpi ideally for solid steels

5/8     tpi ideally for general purpose (solid & angle iron)

6/10   tpi ideally for sectional steels

10/14 tpi ideally for thin wall materials

Carbon steel bandsaw blades are also avail for vertical bandsaw machines & smaller saws. Usually supplied in 100 foot rolls or can be made to size as required. These blades are a constant tpi tooth form.

“BREAK –IN” BLADE PROCEDURE

To “break-in” or "bed-in” a new bandsaw blade is a must. Many tradesman think they know how to – but don’t do it correctly, or at all. Breaking-in a bandsaw blade will increase the bandsaw blades life aprox 4 times. A huge savings.

Simple to do – but rarely done. Most bandsaw machines are taken for granted & not cared for, however blades can be costly.

Run the new bandsaw blade at the required speed, ideally cutting thru hardwood or solid steel. The feedrate should be reduced 1/3 of normal feed. Continue this slower feed rate for 2 hours of cutting, then increase to 2/3 feedrate for further 2 hours of cutting, then back up to normal feedrate. Slow cutting to start, but will increase blade life dramatically, saving you $$$.

TIP WHEN CUTTING SECTIONAL STEELS

When cutting sectional steel (RHS, tube), always have the materials internal welded seam on the top for cutting. This allows the bandsaw blade to cut thru the softer layer before breaking into the “glass-hard” welded seam. Hitting this hard seam will tear teeth off the blade, and then snowballing effect removes further teeth, making your bandsaw blade useless.

Miller’s Tooling Pty Ltd can also supply bandsaw machines, talk to us now for your requirements.
